The property hosts a variety of habitats, including open meadows, forested uplands, a wooded swamp, a shallow marsh/meadow/fen, and perennial Pond Brook. The farm has been owned by four generations of the O’Brien Family since 1886 with a 19th century barn, classic rock walls, and a streetscape reminiscent of the 1880s, the property is also an historic treasure. In 2013, 23 acres of the private land was protected under a conservation restriction held jointly by the Town of Westford and the Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT).

Owner Charley McColough of O’Brien Farm will have the historic Barn open to the public and will be available to answer any questions as well. Old historic photos and farm tools will also be on display.

Wear sturdy footwear appropriate to the weather. Meet at the parking lot at 18 Vose Road near the junction of Steeple Chase. Walk is free of charge, and no sign-up is required. Check our website or facebook page for any weather updates.
